The Cabin at The Busted Grouse is the quintessential northern Michigan chalet. With views over the famous Au Sable River just east of Grayling, it offers exceptional fly fishing, paddling, or simply relaxing. Knotty pine throughout, vaulted ceilings and original vintage decor will allow visitors to recreate memorable trips Up North from years past. A large patio with picnic table and fire ring out front provides a terrific spot for enjoying time outside. The property is heavily wooded for shade and privacy but we've opened things up enough to provide terrific views of the river and some sunlight to warm the yard. It's worth noting that the stairs to the loft are quite steep and may not be ideal for anyone with mobility issues. The Cabin has it's own driveway entrance, river access and plenty of privacy. There is a second Cottage on the west side of the property which we also own, but they have their own driveway entrance and riverfront landing so guests can enjoy their own time while in property. We're always avaialble in any way to help ensure an enjoyable stay. Located immediately downstream of Stephan Bridge in the middle of the famed "Holy Water" stretch of the Au Sable River, this is the hub for fly fishing in Michigan. Just a short walk across the bridge leads you to Gate's Au Sable Lodge which has an outstanding full-service fly shop and a truly exceptional riverside restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. Make sure to call well in advance of your stay for dinner reservations. Located just 8 miles or so from Grayling, guests will have easy access to shopping, restaurants and much more. Approximately 75% of Crawford County is public land offering endless opportunities for hiking, biking, cross country skiing, hunting and more. Please park in the area in front of the Cabin in a way that does not block the driveway. There's room to pull close to the east entrance under the covered porch. Please do not utilize the larger parking area to the west, which is for the adjacent Cottage.
