This classic cedar cabin overlooks the Boardman River, is adjacent to 1,000's of acres of State Land, just 150 yards from The Muncie Lakes Pathway and within 15 minutes of Traverse City. It offers the ultimate in privacy and seclusion with no visible neighbors, but is close to so much to do. Designed in 1980 by Bud Dunbar upon his graduation from architectural school, it was built as a family project to celebrate his achievement. The modified salt box design has one main level bedroom, a spacious living/dining area with spectacular stone fireplace, a main floor bathroom and bright kitchen. Upstairs is a large split loft with sleeping at either end and an office / reading area in between. Guests will enjoy the entire cabin and 3.5 acres of mature forest all to themselves. There's nothing to the east but 1,000's of acres of public land and a large acreage parcel to the west.Â

Chad and Autumn were very kind and responsive. It's obvious how much care they put into trying to make their home a great place to stay and make their guests feel at home. The hosts were happy to help and were open to suggestions. The house is off the road and very peaceful.
Was in Traverse City for the Cherry Festival 5k. Only 20 minutes away from town. If you like to hike in the woods you walk out the front door and literally jump on a trail. We did a 7 mile loop and never saw the same trail twice. Boardman River is a short walk down the hill. You have a put in if you like to kayak. Cabin was well equipped as described. Lots of kitchen utensils and a few spices and cooking oil. Had a couple of questions for Chad. He contacted me quickly and answered my question. We plan on coming back next year and bringing kayaks with us. Thanks Chad!

My wife, Mandy, and I are happy to share our unique riverfront properties with family, friends and guests. We are drawn to properties of character that remind of us time spent up north during our childhoods and work hard to recreate those experiences for our guests. We hope you'll enjoy the properties as much as we do when we spend time their with our own families.
